The Mazurka Project:
Dances by Isadora's Mazurka Project is a concert featuring the historic choreography of Isadora Duncan and José Limón, as well as new choreography by Catherine Gallant, all to the music of Frederic Chopin. Performers include members of Dances by Isadora, soloists from the Limón Dance Company and pianist Alan Moverman. This unique display of dance treasures has never before been presented in concert together.
José Limón's Mazurkas, created after his visit to Poland following World War II, are a noble tribute to the Polish people and will be performed by world reknowned guest artistis form the Limón Company.
Isadora Duncan's Mazurkas, which were created a century ago, range from playful to somber elegance and will be performed with vibrant energy and sublime sensitivity by members of Dances by Isadora.
