About Dances by Isadora

Dances by Isadora, inc. is a non profit tax exempt organization dedicated to creating programming which includes historic and contemporary dance. Since 1986 Dances by Isadora has been enlivening the eye and the mind through an expansive definition of the art form which includes preserving and maintaining the repertoire and technique of the legendary "mother of modern dance", Isadora Duncan. Dances by Isadora is committed to reaching out to diverse audiences through the medium of performance and educational workshops which inform and inspire future generations.

Dances by Isadora has been the recipient of numerous grants and awards including the Massachusetts Arts Lottery, Massachusetts Cultural Council, MIT Council on the Arts, the Bossak/Heilbron Foundation, and the Harkness Foundation for Dance.

Created in 1986 by dancers Patricia Adams, Catherine Gallant and pianist Vivian Taylor, the company has performed to the delight of audiences and critics in Boston, New York, Moscow, Tokyo, Toronto and Helsinki.
